Here, below, you can see the sunspot groups AR12104 and AR1210, captured on July 4, 2014, at a bad transparency (of ~ 7/10) and wild seeing (of ~ 3/5). Having clouds above for last 4 weeks, here, I found some new ways to clear it up and to share the result with my precious friends from Astrosurf. I used an Equinox ED120 scope, Baader Herschel prisma, Baader Continuum filter, IR/UV cut filter, and a USB3 Point Grey Camera. As always at such turbulence, I choose a ROI (Region Of Interest) area at about 700x500 resolution to facilitate a speedy capture (aprox 150 fps-fighting the turbulence somehow). PhotoSHop, Registax, AS!2, the used software for processing. Gabriel

Je veux vous remercier, Baroche. Il est petite parce qu'il a ete capture and traite a une basse resolution. Sur le site Astrosurf, n'importe quelle image au-dessous d'une certaine resolution, est automatiquement augmentee (???),ce que, finalment, penalise de telles resolution d'image. Bonne journee !

Colmic,Well, I think it's a difference between 90 mm and 50 mm, taking in account the number of filaments and the possibility to catch the tiny filaments also (better definition). 90 is almost double compared to 50. It matter the diameter of the objective, of course, because 90 mm brings more light, including those of the tiny filaments (prominence). More over, through haze the tiny filaments disappear. Yes I choose a composition between the disk and limb's area, even I also had haze.I took it as an exercise, despite the bad atmosphere conditions. My goal is not to convince you that my processing is better. This is not my way to be. It's only about suggesting and developing the idea with the deepness of the details in my previous add, there, on concrete examples: yours and my image. Just wanted to underline the importance to process the details by levels of deepness and by sizes and the benefits. On my processing session, I deliberately pushed a bit more with various degrees (levels) of contrasts, for obtaining the deepness even I started with a very poor number of initial details (because of a little instrument and because of the haze). The same time, I concentrated the light to the center of the disk (didn't let the light uniformly spread as intensity), because this is the natural way to be perceived. Changing ideas might be useful for all, here.

C'est juste une question de temps d'exposition (puis de traitement). >>The "haze" ("Brouillard") est une fatalite parce que, indépendamment du temps d'exposition le caméra ne pourra pas, par la suite, différencient des détails, des images ultérieures étant dans le meilleur cas, moins brillant . Avec ou sans sur exposition, de point des détails, le résultat serait était le même, a cause du brouillard.

Colmic, generally speaking, the details are well defined (differentiated) when they have as many have different deepness. That deepness is assured, of course, by 3 or more levels of contrasts. The difference between my image (above),taken by an 50 mm objective and yours exemplified by the link (taken by an 12o mm objectiv) is that you have more details (it's normal taking in account the 120 mm objectiv) but already begin confuse at a superior 3-d level of the surface level but my picture has less details (normal for a 50 mm) but they have different deepness and begin confuse at an appreciable low deepness. I hope you have understand whatever I tried to say. On fournit ces profondeurs, bien sûr, par au moins 3 ou plus niveaux de contraste. La différence entre mon image ci-dessus, qui a été fait avec un 50mm la lentille et votre image qui a été faite avec une lentille de 120 mm est cela que le vôtre a plus de détails (pour taille de lentille + mosaic style, est normale) mais pourrait déjà être embarrassé entre eux à une faible profondeur. Mon image a moins de détails, normaux pour 50mm la lentille, mais les détails ont des profondeurs différentes et ils commencent à confondre entre eux a une profondeur beaucoup plus haut.Regardez-ceci très bien et vous trouverez. Il y a les classes différentes de détails avec des profondeurs diverses, parce qu'ils n'ont pas de taille et une profondeur, également distribuée. En traitant, sera effectué sur plusieurs niveaux de profondeur, donc nous différencierons plus de détails, reale. Correct ? Je pense, que vous comprenez, ce que j'ai essayé de dire ici. Honnêtement, je voudrais avoir, les éléments touchant de vôtre mosaïque, avant qu'il ne puisse être traité (TIFF format), pour vous démontrer, pratiquement mon idée. Cela pourrait être une question de goût, Thierry DEMANGE , mais il serait le meilleur d'oublier que c'est ma image et vous vous demandez comment honnête vous pouvez être avec vous-même. Je ne suis pas fou, de toute façon j'ai déclaré initialement qu'est horrible. Parfois, les contrastes augmenté peut fournir plus de détails.Gabriel

polo0258: hello and many thanks for your appreciations and your open-hearth kind to be. Colmic : I made the capture having a pretty bad seeing, the most bothering being the haze, first of all. I used my Lunt 60 H-alpha,with a Double Stack module, a X2.5 Tele-Vue barlow and a Point Grey mono camera, 2.3 Mpixels, at ~ 120 FPS. There is just a crop here but not the whole captured image. The regular steps which I follow, are briefly described at this link (where you have to ignore the excellent adds of mr "C8 plus"). Thierry Legault: The haze was the issue which got the all-white aspect of the picture. Everybody who own a Lunt H-alpha telescope, know about that whitening effect, when the haze is above of a level. I usually am processing even the captures taken under bad seeing conditions (just for exercising) and that capture was one of those.
