    Excellent image Polo! Congratulations!
  3. Well, Baroche, Polo and Stephan, thank you all for comments. I was forced to over process because I shot the frames through pretty nervous turbulence, some haze and long focal length: 4500mm. Just wanted to save as much details. Yes I know I over processed here. Waiting for a better seeing. Here you have a sample of my shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR51b_ha9Jk&list=UUSJiUHX2FqeDE70sK8RH-uA [Ce message a été modifié par uranus7 (Édité le 20-10-2014).]

  13. Le disque Solaire 11 October 2014 - H-Alpha.

Thank you very much, Alan.Well, you must believe that it's mine because you'll never get this stile to others. (kidding)Our country is often sweep by clouds and haze fronts. If I'll live in France or Italy, my pictures will be much much better, believe me. Here I have to wait for a very rare opportunity regarding the seeing and transparency. That's the reason why the processing quality become extremely important to me. So, the bad seeing conditions is stimulative finally...isn't ? Cheers,Gabriel

Salut VL,Well, c'est vrai, je ne suis pas super bavard en francais...but I much better can communicate in english. I used a Lunt 60 H-alpha, double stack, with a 500mm FL, a 2.5 TeleVue barlow and a mono camera Chameleon from Point Grey (PGR).It was a sunny but little hazy day, not suitable for perfect captures. The picture isn't a composition (that's quite interesting)...all is solved only by processing (both - the disk and the prominence).Cheers, Gabriel

Thank you, Polo for correction (the picture appearance at small format). I didn't know how to show it at small format, because the picture was delivered by me in a low resolution and wouldn't look so great in "Full" resolution as will probably be processed by this site. Also, this picture look better at small format (having some noise due to the bad transparency and due to the bad camera). So...I also learned from you how to do it on this occasions, to show pictures at reduced dimensions. Thanks again. Cheers,Gabriel[Ce message a été modifié par uranus7 (Édité le 07-10-2014).]
  23. Hi Christian and thank you for the video clip and link.Probably when such "tornadoes" aren't seen lying on limb, but they are lying somewhere on the disk, then can appear as kind of circles. Anyway, I am impressed that I catched this kind of filament structures (plasma structures) in H-alpha but in white light spectrum also. Sometime ago, I captured kind of rotating prominence, which can probably belong to the same category of "solar tornadoes". I'm speaking about this shape: Regards, Gabriel[Ce message a été modifié par uranus7 (Édité le 05-10-2014).]
