Ici au Québec il y avait encore une auror hier soir..yeh.. Il semblerait selon l'alert sur les aurores que cela va durer encore pour 2-3 jours pour notre région. Pour l'Europe je ne sais pas !

POur la France cela me semble compromis; on est juste en dessous de la zone potentiellement intéressante.
Mais on ne sait jamais.

SYNOPSIS...

A resumption of southwardly directed interplanetary
magnetic fields has
been observed over the last 12 to 18 hours. An unconfirmed sighting of auroral activity from Germany as well as a strong substorm
interval over the higher latitude North American region over the last hour has prompted the issuance of this watch. Conditions may become sporadically
favorable once again for the production of auroral substorming. Some substorm activity has the potential of being strong enough to produce some middle latitude sightings. The new phase of the moon will contribute to the
dark skies necessary to spot periods of activity. However, observer patience may be
required as substorm intervals strong enough to observe from mid-latitudes is not expected to be continual or frequent at this time.

Additional enhancements of activity may be observed on 08 and/or 09 October in response to two minor coronal mass ejections that are expected to impact the Earth on these dates.

This watch will remain valid through 19:00 UTC (3 pm EDT) on 10 October.

Les aurores sont liées à l'activité du soleil qui est cyclique.
Tous les 11 ans, l'activité du soleil est à son maximum: protubérances, taches solaires...
Les probabilités d'observer une aurore sont + importantes lors du maximum d'activité (le dernier a eu lieu en 2001 ).

Nous en sommes en période d'acalmie(même si le mois d'octobre a été actif).

LEs aurores vont donc se raréfier - surtout sous nos latitudes.

Pour observer les aurores, il faut donc suivre de près l'activité solaire en regardant les cartes diffusées et messages d'alerte qu'on peut recevoir: voir cette ancienne page du forum: http://www.astrosurf.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000159.html

En résumé sous nos latitudes,pour avoir toutes les chances d'en voir une:
- attendre le max. d'activité du soleil.
- bone période: printemps et automnes.
- suivre de près la météo solaire et le jour J venu...si le ciel est sans nuages:
- observer aux alentours de minuit
- vers le nord
- ouvrir grand les yeux.
- attendre...
- attendre...
- et ... attendre...

Il y avait une alerte pour le Québec hier mais le ciel était voilé. Plus tard j'ai regarder on voyait bien Jupiter et Orion mais pas d'aurore. Plus tard sans dout.
