"The comet is bigger and brighter compared to only 3 days before," says Kato. "Its green coma (atmosphere) is about 20 arcminutes in diameter." For comparison, the Moon is 30 arcminutes wide.

The Fall and Rise in Brightness of Betelgeuse
This is approximately 424+/-4 days after the last (shallower: V ~ +0.9 mag) light minimum was observed in mid-December 2018.

430 jours ?

@Christophe Pellier merci !
The short period of ~420 days is driven by the star’s pulsation, similar to other pulsating red giants.

" Betelgeuse Updates "
Correcting the error in our previous ATel (thanks to George Cooper for pointing this out), the change in radius R'/R is calculated from R'/R = [(L'/L)/(T'/T)^4 ]^0.25. Adopting T'/T = (3565 K /3650 K), and L'/L = 0.77, indicates an apparent radius decrease of R'/R ~0.92 since September 2019.
the minimum brightness is expected on 21 (+/-7d) February, 2020.
