    which is not surprising because Proxima Centauri’s orbital period of 547+66 −40 kyr

     

    3°N   = Gaia DR3 5544743925212648320 = UPM J0812-3529 => 29 Kyr   

    then it will pass just 0.11 pc from the Sun in 29 kyr

     for example, the star would come about 0.008 pc (7%) closer.

     

    53°N = Gaia DR3 1926461164913660160 = Ross 248 =>  36 Kyr
