Binning Harware sur camera Moravian C1x 61000 pro

Bonjour

 

Je m’intéresse aux cameras de la marque Moravian, plus précisément la C1x 61000 au capteur  Sony imx 455 24x36.

 

C'est pour équiper au foyer primaire (sur l'araignée) un Newton de 60cm à 1800 de focale

 

Je vois qu'il est indiqué dans la doc qu'un binning harware 2x2 est possible.

 

Est-ce  un vrai binning hardware? quelqu'un a  t-il testé sur cette camera?

je crois que le sujet a été abordésur ce capteur  et comme c’est un cmos ce n'est que logiciel. à vérifier

J'ai eu la reponse du boss de Moravian (ce dimanche matin, je n'en demandais pas tant...)

Regardless if the sensor is monochrome or color, the sensor hardware supports only binning obeying the Bayer mask structure. So, the sensor-supported binning cannot be used for monochrome sensors. From this point of view the binning is always “software”, as the sensor is always read in full resolution.

 

What we call “hardware binning” is binning performed in camera hardware, not in sensor itself hardware. Despite sensor is read in full resolution, pixels are binned immediately and prior downloading the image to PC. As the 5Gbps USB3 line is the bottleneck in image download, having image binned prior it is transferred to PC saved download time.

 

The big plus of the binning in camera hardware, but not in sensor itself, is the ability to perform bin as sum or mean, to respect saturated pixels etc."
